Ken's Pick   (Lodi, California)

Lodi Estates Merlot 2021 14%abv.

Tasting Notes: Although Lodi is in California's Central Valley, its climate is more Mediterranean than the hot, dry semi-arid climate you might expect. This is thanks to the many rivers which run through the AVA and the creeks, estuaries and bays into which they flow. Merlot, an early budding grape, does well here in the reliable warmth. This wine is dense garnet in color. It has a layered aroma of black currant, garrigue, plum, and vanilla. On the palate, good complexity, with black currant, blackberry, espresso with cream, and oregano notes. It has good structure: tannins present but smooth, plush mouth feel but not jammy. A real nice surprise. A perfect match for bison burgers! Drink now-2026.

Price: $19.99 750 ml

Taylor's Pick   (Monterey, California, USA)

Noble Vines 2020 446 Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: The sunny weather in April has reinspired my love for chardonnay and this one from Noble Vines does not disappoint. The straw color displays its 5-6 months of time in French and American oak barrels. Grown in a cooler climate within the Monterey region of California, this wine brings vanilla, lychee, and bright citrus to the nose. Creamy and complex flavors starting with vanilla, pineapple, and peach followed by flower blossom, marshmallow and melon to finish. Long finish balanced with slight minerality, this wine has it all. Great value for its price, this is a wine to have on the table or sip on the deck all summer long!

Price: $19.99

Harry's Pick   (Scotland)

Compass Box CANVAS (Limited Edition)

Tasting Notes: Canvas focuses on the generous sweetness of whiskies aged in American oak barrels. However, to complete our composition, we turned to an experimental parcel of single malt re-racked into Spanish orange wine casks for three years. A whisky that is bright, bold and delicious. The gloriously waxy and citrusy nose is followed by forest honey and vanilla shortbread notes on the palate. Flavors of nutmeg, cardamom and chocolate intertwine in the long-lasting finish Limited Edition Bottled June 2021 Release of 5,880 bottles worldwide Lead whisky maker: James Saxon

Price: $173.99

DeWayne's Pick   (NEW ZEALAND)

Tasting Notes: Mud House Wine Company is a wine producer based in Marlborough, New Zealand. It is most famous for its Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wines. Sauvignon Blanc is a white-wine grape from western France, now successfully grown in emerging and established wine regions all over the world. The variety produces lightly colored, aromatic dry white wines with fresh acidity. Synonyms: Fumé Blanc, Sauvignon Bianco, Muskat-Silvaner, Muskat-Sylvaner. The front palate is peppered with notes of melon and citrus, while the crisp grapefruit-like acidity lingers and adds texture.

Price: $21.49

Sortilege Prestige 7 yr

Tasting Notes: Made from the finest Canadian whisky, aged 7 years, and blended with first run pure maple syrup. It is surprisingly a fantastic combination. Maple, toffee and caramel aromas AND flavors! It is medium sweet with a smooth burn. Sip it over ice, add to coffee/tea or shake with vodka for a maple martini!

Alison's Pick   (Italy)

Blue Giovello Prosecco

Tasting Notes: This easy going mellow Prosecco is lovely to sip on any time of the day! Fruity with apple, pear and some herbal notes. The palate is off-dry, simple and fruity but not too sweet. The mousse has a nice texture with lots of bubbles. Don't pour it too fast or it will foam up!

Price: $18.99

Georgie's Pick   (Scotland)

Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour

Tasting Notes: As a West Highlander, this Highland Whisky from Orkney does not disappoint. Nose: Gentle, but quite sweet and fruity with touches of apricot, granulated sugar, orange peels, marmalade and a touch of tobacco. Just a tinge of fennel in the background. The smoke is almost non-existent. Taste: More recognisable as Highland Park now. Subtle, yet refreshing smoke. Green-ish in a way. A hint of white pepper, cereals, oak spices and oranges, as well as a more herbacious side. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side. Finish: Medium length with spicy oak, some ginger and a touch of honey. Soft fruits too.

Price: $94.00
